Why does God make me do hard things?

why does God make me do hard things, leap of faith, faith lessons, precept ministries, kay arthur

Why does God make us do hard things?

Some of God’s life lessons for us are just not easy ones. Now, some faith lessons are baby steps and we can toddle along a little, trusting God a little. But some faith lessons require an absolute leap of faith into the void believing the arms of God will catch us. And, if we are honest, we worry that he might drop us.
Why the hard lessons? It is a great question. The answer is simple enough that we often do not want to hear it, but here it is. God demands we live by faith, and simple things require little or no faith.

This is the story of one of my leaps and my worry that God might not be able to catch me. This is the story of Andy, Roger, and my family.

Love, The Mark of a Believer!

Love the mark of a believer, precept ministries, inductive bible study, kay arthur, all you need is love, become who you were designed to be,

Loving people is tough! It is hard work. The lawyer who questioned Jesus understood the implications of the two commands Love God and your neighbor as yourself, which is why he tried to get out of obeying. (Luke 10:25-37)

Don't just say you love me! Prove it!

Prove it!,,kay arthur

If you have ever heard a sermon or a teaching on marriage in a Christian context you have heard that husbands are to love their wives. Or, to be more specific, husbands are to love their wives without putting any conditions on that love. Men are to love their wives the same way Christ loves the church.

5 Ways to Love Your Husband

5 Ways to Love Your Husband,Kay Arthur,best friends,bff

No, this post is not about your physical relationship in marriage. Although, that might really help your husband feel encouraged and feel loved. This post is much broader. We are talking about ways you as a wife or mother can strengthen your whole family.

Married or single, young or old, every human has the emotional need to feel loved.

She Had an Uncomfortable Feeling About God

She had an uncomfortable feeling about God. As a young girl she seldom went to church or Sunday School, but when she did, she felt as though she didn’t fit in. The church people were good people whose ideas about living life were much different than hers.

Ah, Valentine’s Day.

The Most Googled Verse of 2013

why did the ncaa ban eye-black messages,2009 bcs championship,denver broncos,bible study,precept minstries,kay arthur

It’s probably the most famous verse in the world. You have seen it on banners, bill boards, bumpers, and bus stops. You see people holding up cardboard signs at sporting events and you see it tacked on trees on the side of the road. Sometimes its the whole verse but often it is simply John 3:16.

Real Life Love Stories

Chris%27 house

It’s been a week of; great loss and devastation, a roller coaster of emotions, miracles, an epic outpouring of care and concern and stunning images of love captured for the world to see. It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words and this week we would all agree. The images of the devastation in Moore, Oklahoma have been seared into our hearts and minds. There are no words to describe the photos.

The Story I Never Told

Jerry Joseph, Onesinglevoice, Precept Ministries, Bible study on love
From time to time we come across a story so compelling we simply have to share it with you. This is the story of a young man caught up in a web of lies and the church who loved him. The author, Maurie Bratcher is the Student Ministry Coordinator at Mission Dorado Church in Odessa, Texas. Maurie and her family are friends of Precept Ministries and more specifically Transform Student Ministries. This post and the link to her blog are shared with permission.
Maurie Bratcher's story

Three years ago, my world fell apart. And then GQ showed up. ESPN followed. HBO called. They all wanted me to serve as a source for a story, one so confounding and intriguing that it garnered nationwide attention.  I was a character in the story, a bit player that entered in obscurity but ended up right in the heart of the climax. As my reality morphed into fiction, I was speechless. How could this be my life?
