 Like Sheep Led to Slaughter

They Declared War on Us. We are like sheep led to the slaughter.

Why is Giving Thanks So Hard?

Why is Giving Thanks so Hard, give thanks, thank you, turkey, precept ministries, kay arthur

What are you grateful for? I realize most of us have the same basic answers. We are grateful for Jesus, salvation, family, spouses, and children. If we are really honest a few of us will say we are thankful for coffee, warm beds, comfortable chairs, and chocolate.

God and Satan are Not equals!

God and satan are not equals,God wins, ying and yang, fenshui, kay arthur, precept ministries

Do you ever get the feeling that many Christians believe Satan and God are essentially equals? I realize we would never say that out loud, but don’t we sometimes act as if it’s true? We would all say God wins in the end. But sometimes we act like it’s going to be really close. Satan is on the attack and the church is taking a beating, but if we can just hold on a little longer we might be able struggle far enough down the field to kick a field goal in the last 3 seconds of the game and help God win!

Reformation Day? I thought it was Halloween?

Actually, October 31 is Halloween, but it's also Reformation Day. And since I don't celebrate Halloween, this post is about Reformation Day and what difference it makes in our lives. I know many of you are thinking "Reformation Day? So what?" Believe it or not what happened on October 31, 497 years ago matters.

Revival or Judgment (Part 1)

If you’re familiar with George Barna’s analysis of the beliefs and standards of Christians today, you know collectively those who identify themselves by a clear and biblical definition of what it means to be “born again” have strayed far from the precepts of God. The Church so thinks and lives like the world, it’s hard to distinguish one from the other.

The Rapture?

I can’t find the word in my Bible! What is it? What are people talking about?

The Nation That Seeks God - Part 2

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord… —Psalm 33:12

Beloved, I love to cling to promises from God’s Word. Jehovah has made so many promises to those who love Him. But the Bible is full of other promises—promises that are equally trustworthy. It’s frightening to think of a “promise of wrath,” but that’s exactly the message Ezekiel delivered to Jerusalem—the City of David he so loved:

   Will America Be Judged?

Does God judge nations today? Will America Be Judged? What does the Bible say about God's judgment? John Piper shares an important blog on this subject.

The Nation That Seeks God - Part 1

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…—Psalm 33:12

“The Times They Are A-Changin’,” Bob Dylan’s hit song from 1964, was right—they were changing! A generation of young “hippies” was convinced—American society was at the door to a cultural revolution. Thousands of “flower children” of the 1960s in Haight Ashbury (San Francisco) and Berkeley thought they would usher in communities of peace, love, unity, and sharing that would embarrass organizations representing traditional values (like churches).

Boy, were they wrong! The “sons and…daughters…beyond your command” (as the song goes) lured into hippie communities couldn’t make the break with ordinary self-centeredness—possessiveness and jealousy. The communities eventually broke up, some from lack of funds (namely Mom and Dad’s), many from dissension and hostility. Several of the “rock music” groups that carried on Dylan’s message splintered, members scattering, angry and frustrated with each other.
